Happy Wednesday! I’m back at university this week as I’ve recovered enough from my surgery, so I’m very happy!
WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam Taking On A World of Words, where bloggers answer the following questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?
Just Finished…
Last week I read two books while I was recovering from my surgery, both cosy fantasy since they didn’t require lots of brain power and also I wanted happy things.
I read The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy by Megan Bannen, and A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping by Sangu Mandanna. I really enjoyed both! Hart… was a recommendation from someone on Pagebound and while it took me a little to get started (anaesthetic brain haha), I eventually ended up flying through it. Magical Innkeeping I read in two afternoons and I loved it so much.
Currently…
I’ve just started The Enduring Universe by Kritika H. Rao. I’m really excited to get to the finale of this series, one I have truly loved over the last couple of years.
I’m still reading A Year With Gilbert White by Jenny Uglow though I have had to put it on pause. I can’t read anything in hardback since my surgery was abdominal and resting books on my stomach is a huge no-no (it’s also just too heavy for me to actually hold right now haha). I’m looking forward to getting back to it soon though, because I am truly loving it.
I’ve also put Truth Demands by Abby Reyes on pause during my recovery (I did not want anything too heavy subject-wise either), and have decided to keep it on pause for the time being for that same reason. I think I want to end the year with positive vibes, which I completely get is a privilege, but I just need some happier things at the moment!
Up Next…
I actually don’t know what I want to read next! The Enduring Universe will probably last me a little bit, and hopefully by then I can read hardbacks again. So I suspect I might go for something like Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands, and maybe The Cat’s Tales by Charlie Creed.
