Another busy month where I am still getting the hang of the balance between studying and life in my free time. I have surgery today (I am actually pre-writing this on the 30th of November), so wish me luck, and I’ll catch up with you all on the other side!
Reading Wrap
In November I read 3 books, which matches my October total. I think 3-4 books is probably going to be my new normal number now which is fine, I just need to get used to it! As you’ll see from my Storygraph stats, there were a lot of dips and rises where I mostly sat down to read over the weekends.
In November, I read my first ever poetry book, which was great, and I also read a more literary fantasy alongside a sequel to one of my favourite ever books. They were all fairly short, but I enjoyed each one in its own way, which I am very pleased about. I am also still reading A Year With Gilbert White slowly, hopefully I’ll finish that in December.

- Ragwort by Sam K. Horton. Sequel to Gorse, one of my favourite books, Ragwort picks up a year later with Nancy. She discovers that she may have family alive somewhere, and sets out to find them, not realising that she could be setting in motion the downfall of the village she calls home. Review coming soon.
- A Song for the Earth by Shannon Jade. This is a poetry book that was very kindly sent to me by the author. I hesitated to accept it, since I typically have struggled with poetry, but this collection has the underlying theme of care for the planet. I am pleased to say that I really enjoyed it! It’s more of a novel in verse, and I’ll have a review out soon.
- Lanny by Max Porter. I still need to collect my thoughts about this one, but it was a really unique reading experience in a good way! On the surface, it’s fairly normal – a regular English village with regular people, but then we have Lanny with his wild imagination and a strange entity that embodies the spirit of the land and the village itself. I’ll write a review asap for this one.
Books Aquired
A new section, inspired by Kiera @Kiera’s Bookmark!
I wanted to add this in as I do get sent books semi-often, and I wanted to shout them out because I don’t always manage to get to them in good time.
This month I received a surprising amount of books (I definitely don’t normally get sent so many!) and also purchased The Legend of Meneka for myself using a gift card from my birthday earlier in the year.
Reading Challenges
Lanny was a book to check off both my r/Fantasy Bingo board and Friends Recommend, so that’s good!
The Diverse Baseline Challenge paused for another month – I think I might be done with it for the year, which is okay because I have read more than 12 books for it, which is the ultimate goal.
I read the November pick for Rewild Your Shelf a few years ago, so that was fine. I still need to read one more book to make it 50% for the year, which I plan to do in December.
Blog Wrap
I’ve had a great month on the blog, joining in with the Non-Fiction November blog event. I didn’t write too many reviews, but I am pleased with my posts overall.

Life Wrap

November was busy with University for the most part, since I have deadlines coming up soon, but I managed to do some bits in my garden – namely digging out a new flowerbed and planting a tree and some bulbs.
I also went away for a few days this past week with my best friend and her dog, and it was a lovely way to end the month!
