The Quarter Year Crisis Book Tag 2025

Storygraph says I have read 34 books so far in 2025. That’s actually surprising to me, I thought I had read less, but I guess February really boosted those numbers!

Fantasy! 12 of my reads have been fantasy, with science fiction following at 7. Non fiction sits at 5 books, and the rest are a mix of other fiction genres.

Reading more diversely. I am really pleased that more than half of my books are LGBTQIA+, just under half have disability rep, 1/3 are non UK/USA, 1/3 are POC, and 2/3 are woman authored.

My reading challenges! Bingo has only just started again, to be fair, but usually I’d have read at least one book by now! Hopefully in May I can check a few off there!

  1. I read Gorse last Autumn – the atmosphere and vibes were great, exactly what I was hoping for (although I did struggle to connect with the characters) 🙂

  3. You are doing great at your diverse goal. That is still something I struggle with (though I also don’t count a book if it is too much into the background which is my own failing lol)

  5. Great recap of the quarter! I’ve got Water Moon on my TBR and I’ve heard mixed things about it but I’m hopeful to love it as much as you did 🙂 I’m also really looking forward to The River Has Roots. All things I’ve heard about it have been positive and glowing, so I can’t wait to check it out too. I hope you continue to read some amazing books as the year goes on!

    1. Thanks Dini! Water Moon was just my perfect whimsical read haha. I still can’t believe I haven’t read The River Has Roots yet, it’s tiny and it’s been on my shelf since release day!
