Happy Friday! It’s been a chaotic but lovely week with my sister visiting, and it means that I am frantically writing this on Friday morning because I haven’t had time to prepare any posts!
Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly bookish discussion meme created by Rukky @Eternity Books and co-hosted by Aria @Book Nook Bits and Dini @DiniPandaReads. Each Friday, bloggers will write posts about a particular topic and share on their blog.
Our next topic for April is all about bookish accessories.

Do you collect bookish accessories? What are some bookish accessories that you can’t get enough of?
I don’t generally collect much of anything (books aside, though I definitely wouldn’t call myself a collector anymore), but my one weakness is bookmarks. I tend not to collect bookmarks that are very generic, but ones that will remind me of something. I like to pick up bookmarks as souvenirs from events or places I have visited, rather than ones that relate to a specific book. They don’t take up much space and I use them basically every day too, and they’re a lovely reminder of places I’ve seen and people I’ve experienced something with.
Is there any type of bookish accessory that you feel is “overdone” (i.e. book mugs)?
As someone who doesn’t really like ‘stuff’ I feel like most things are overdone (yes, even bookmarks!), especially being in the fantasy space. Candles are a big one for me – I don’t know anyone who uses that many candles. Random plastic accessories too like keychains and trinkets I hate. Sorry.
For me, I don’t think it’s so much the volume, though it is excessive, but the price tag that people ascribe to these things that makes me tired of them, though that is a conversation for another day.
Where do you usually get your bookish accessories and do you have recommended stores to get them from?
Since I only really buy bookmarks, I don’t have a specific place. I have bought a few from sellers on Etsy as gifts, but for myself I find them in shops when I’m out and about. However, if I were to buy a bookish tote or a sticker or something, hands-down it would be from Bookishly.co.uk, which is a small independent business promoting diversity and inclusivity through their products, and their stuff is so lovely. I do have my eye on this Bookshops not Billionaires tote bag, though I don’t need another tote…
