Happy Wednesday and happy July (since I missed last week)!!

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?
Just Finished…

In the last week I have finished 3 books. A vast improvement from June already!

First up was Rewitched by Lucy Jane Wood. I finished June with no idea what to read, so I asked my sister to pick for me! I had previously bought her this book, and she really enjoyed it so told me to read it. It was cute, cosy and witchy, one of my favourite easy reading categories so I flew through it.

Next I read Open Throat by Henry Hoke. This is a climate fiction through the eyes of a mountain lion. It was very unique and also quite affecting. I really liked it, and honestly might reread it at some point.

Finally I finished Uncharmed, also by Lucy Jane Wood. Another cute, cosy and witchy book, again I had a really good time with it. This trio of reads definitely seems to have reset me quite nicely!

Currently…

I’m currently reading 3 books. Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer is, as ever still on the pile. I actually haven’t picked this up in a month, so I guess it’s technically paused, but the buddy read it still ongoing. We all hit a reading block in June for various reasons.

I am almost finished with Beauty of the Beasts by Jo Wimpenny, a non-fiction about the lesser-loved creatures of the world. I set it down during my slump because I was enjoying it and didn’t want it to become the victim of my bad reading mood! Thankfully that worked, and I am happily working my way through to the end now.

Lastly, I am reading Camp Zero by Michelle Min Sterling. A climate fiction focusing on people displaced in one way or another due to climate change. It has a mystery element to it, which is super interesting. I am not super far in yet, but very intrigued.

Up Next…

My next non-fiction will be Ocean by David Attenborough and Colin Butfield. I’m not sure on fiction, I have a few options including The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow, and Break Room by Miye Lee.

YOU TELL ME: What are you currently reading?
