Happy Wednesday! It’s been a minute since I last did one of these! Uni deadlines are looming and I haven’t had the time to write too much recently, but I have still been reading.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam Taking On A World of Words, where bloggers answer the following questions:

Just Finished…

In the last week I finished 3 books, though only one was started and finished fully in that time.

I finished The Two Lies of Faven Sythe by Megan E. O’Keefe first, a really great sci-fi featuring space pirates! This brought me one step closer to completing r/Fantasy 2025.

Next I finished listening to Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim. While there is nothing wrong with it, I just don’t gel quite as much with ya anymore so I was glad to get it finished. I know I would have loved it more a few years ago! This book got me my full bingo!

Finally I started and finished Sunbirth by An Yu. This is on the 2026 Climate Fiction Prize longlist, and it was very surreal and introspective. Not my usual kind of story but I actually really liked it.

Currently…

I’m currently reading 3 books. Sort of.

I’m still reading An Unnatural History of Britain by Kevin Parr, but it’s sort of on pause for a moment. Not because I’m not enjoying it (it’s very interesting), but because I have a second non-fiction I need to finish quickly…

Slime by Susanne Wedlich is that non-fiction. My university library is doing a reading challenge and of course I picked a thick, dense book that has a short loan time to start with, didn’t I. It’s very interesting though!

Finally, my current fiction read is The Tiger’s Share by Keshava Guha, another from the Climate Fiction Prize longlist. Again, not something I would pick myself (a contemporary fiction about two families in India), but I am enjoying it, so maybe I need to rethink my taste…

Up Next…

I will be continuing to read from the Climate Fiction Prize longlist, either with Hum by Helen Phillips, or Every Version of You by Grace Chan.
I am unlikely to finish both my non-fiction’s by next Wednesday!

    Not sure what next. Probably the new Jordan L Hawk which should arrive in my in box on Friday

    I’ve started Three Bags Full, and think it’s going to be a fun little read 😀

    Also almost finished with the audio for the Matchmaker’s Gift.

        Yeah, I believe so. The subtitle/tagline is “A Sheep Detective Story” 😀
        I think the second book in the series is “Big Bad Wolf” 🙂

    Looks like you had a good reading week! I love Lim’s YA fantasies but I just finished her latest one and I didn’t love it as much as I thought I would. I’m low-key disappointed but I think it’s very much to do with how I’m really shifting away from YA now… Your cli-fi books sound interesting though! Sometimes it’s nice to read out of your comfort zone (for your current cli-fi read). I hope you continue enjoying it!

      Yeah I really liked her Six Crimson Cranes duology (I never read the prequel), but that was a few years ago now, and I realise my tastes have changed a lot! I’m also now 34 and I think my patience for younger characters wears thinner haha.

      I am really enjoying expanding my reading horizons of late!
