WWW Wednesday: 25/02/26

,

Happy Wednesday! I’m quickly typing this before I head off to university for the day, since reading week is now over!

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?
Just Finished…

Since last WWW Wednesday I finished 4 books (who am I???)

The Gods Must Burn by T.R. Moore was an ARC read (it’s out now!), about a soldier who becomes a God, sworn to protect the forest his own army is burning down.

Sourdough by Angela Slatter is a collection of fantasy horror folk tales that I actually really enjoyed! I was surprised as I usually hate horror, but I would call this horror-lite.

I listened to The Integral Trees by Larry Niven. The quality of the audio wasn’t great, but the story itself was entertaining, if weird and wacky like most 80’s scifi is!

Finally, I read The Memory Bookshop by Song Yu-Jeong, another ARC. It’s a short and sweet Korean translated fiction, and is very poignant.

Currently…

I’m currently reading 2 books.
Mad Sisters of Esi by Tashan Mehta is a beautifully written fantasy story about two sisters. I just can’t get over the writing. I also adore sister stories, and I know this is going to make me cry (a rarity!).

I am also just picking a non-fiction, An Unnatural History of Britain by Kevin Parr. This has been kindly sent to me, and I am really interested to learn about the weird and wonderful (non-native) species we have hiding on our island!

Up Next…

I’m unsure if I’ll finish either of the above by next Wednesday, but next I am planning to read The Two Lies of Faven Sythe by Megan O’Keefe, and Frostlines by Neil Shea.

YOU TELL ME: What are you currently reading?

  1. I’m currently reading Sweetwater and the Witch by Jayne Castle which I’ve had in my tbr for a few years.

In the last week I only read 2 books. Not sure what happened there! 🥁

1 Guild Boss by Jayne Castle

2 First Sign of Danger by Kelley Armstrong

Not sure what next. Probably the new Anna Hackett which is actually a release
