Happy Wednesday! I’m away this week with a friend, staying in a cosy cabin in the woods. Lots of time for reading, yay!
WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam Taking On A World of Words, where bloggers answer the following questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?
Just Finished…
I’ve only finished one book since the last WWW Wednesday I did, and that is A Song for the Earth by Shannon Jade. It was a really lovely novel in verse, taking us to see the frontlines of climate change and aiming to inspire us to take action in our own ways.
Currently…
I’m currently reading A Year With Gilbert White by Jenny Uglow, Truth Demands by Abby Reyes and Lanny by Max Porter.
I’m still going with A Year With Gilbert White. I’m really enjoying reading it slowly. There is a section for every day of the year, so I’ve been reading a week to a month of entries each time I sit down with it, and it’s been a lovely way of getting through the book. Gilbert White is such an interesting person, and I’m enjoying seeing things through his eyes.
I actually haven’t read much of Truth Demands yet, I have been dipping more into Gilbert White at the moment. But hopefully this week I can make some good progress, because it’s really important reading.
I wanted to take a fiction away with me, so I chose Lanny, since it felt ‘cabin-in-the-woods-autumnal-reading’ to me. I don’t know why!
Up Next…
I’m going into hospital next week, so I’m not sure how I’ll be feeling, but I’ll probably have Gilbert White, and Truth Demands still going. If I want another fiction, I’m hoping to read either The Enduring Universe by Kritika H. Rao, or A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping by Sangu Mandanna.
