Happy Wednesday! The weather has been rubbish this week, but the rain let off enough for me to snap this week’s photo!
WWW Wednesday is a weekly recap meme hosted by Sam over at Taking on a World of Words, where we share what we’re reading and what’s up next on the tbr.
What are you currently reading?
The Possibility of Tenderness by Jason Allen-Paisant is my non-fiction at the moment. The author travels back to his birthplace in Jamaica and reflects on his childhood, particularly looking at plants and the cultivation of the land for food, along with the culture and people that reside there.
My fiction read is The Sun Blessed Prince by Lindsey Byrd. I’m about 20% in and the world is very cool, and I am enjoying where it’s heading with regards to the characters. From where I am at right now I feel it can go one of two ways plot-wise, so hopefully the enjoyment will continue!
What have you recently finished?
I’m finished A Training School for Elephants by Sophy Roberts last week. I was surprised by how engrossed I was in this book. It was not so much about elephants as it was about colonialism in Africa in the 1800s. I’ll have a full review soon.
What do you think you’ll read next?
Is A River Alive? by Robert Macfarlane will be my next non-fiction read as I am still working through the Wainwright Prize shortlisted books. I’ve heard great things about this one.
Once I finish The Sun Blessed Prince, I will be moving on to Falling in a Sea of Stars by Kristen Britain and I am buzzing about it.
