WWW Wednesday: 21/5/25

,

Hello, happy Wednesday! You might have noticed I took some time off the blog last week – I just didn’t have the time or energy for much aside from a couple of reviews. But I missed it! I hope you’ve all had great weeks!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly recap meme hosted by Sam over at Taking on a World of Words, where we share what we’re reading and what’s up next on the tbr.

I am a little way into The Lost Folk by Lally MacBeth. Not that far, considering I intended to start this two Wednesday’s ago, but life has happened. Anyway, I am really loving it so far, and have been down several google holes already, one of which resulted in the author recommending me more books lol.

I have also just started a fiction book, The Listeners by Maggie Stiefvater. I am mostly in the mood for non-fiction right now, but have a few fiction arcs, and this one is historical magical realism, which seemed like the best choice for my current mood.

Not a huge amount. My most recently finished read is The Serpent Called Mercy by Roanne Lau. I really enjoyed it, so good to read a fantasy book where the main relationship is a friendship.

I also finally finished up Pathfinding by Kerri Andrews, a non fiction on motherhood and walking. Lovely book, my full review is here.

On the drive back from Wales I listened to The Draw of the Sea by Wyll Menmuir, a non fiction recommended to me by a friend. I am not a sea person, but I really liked the way the author spoke about it, and the fact it is set where I live made it feel more special.

No idea… I have so much non fiction that I am desperate to pick up! I have been blessed by publishers on that front recently, so I’ll probably mood pick from the pile.

In terms of fiction, I am thinking either my arc of The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst, or The Dream Hotel by Laila Lalami

  1. The Enchanted Greenhouse has such a stunning cover and I’m curious about The Listeners. I hope you enjoy it despite being in more of a non-fiction mood 🙂
