WWW Wednesday: 9/4/25

,

It’s Wednesday again! These weeks are flying by. I hope you’ve all been reading lovely things.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly recap meme hosted by Sam over at Taking on a World of Words, where we share what we’re reading and what’s up next on the tbr.

I have two books on the go at the moment. The first is Down in the Sea of Angels by Khan Wong, very kindly sent to me by Angry Robot Books. It’s a really cool premise, the MC can sense the history of objects through touch, and she connects with two people from the past through a jade cup. I’m about 25% through right now and enjoying it.

The second is a nonfiction, Pathfinding by Kerri Andrews, sent to me by Elliott and Thompson. I’ve only just started it so no real thoughts yet, but it’s about motherhood and the power of walking.

I read two books last week. The first was my final read for The Climate Fiction Prize shortlist, The Morningside by Téa Obreht. It was absolutely not what I was expecting it to be, but I did really like it overall and I’ll have a review up soon.

The second was The Cat Who Saved the Library by Sōsuke Natsukawa, translated by Louise Heal Kawai. I really enjoyed the first book in this series, and I was lucky enough to receive an arc of this one from Picador. It was just as lovely, and I have a full review here.

I actually don’t have a plan for my next book(s)! I’ve got quite a lot that I want to read soon, so I think I will do a true mood pick once I have finished my current fiction book.

  1. The ones you are currently reading sound great! I added Pathfinding to my list! I am into nonfiction lately and this one sounds like it would be right up my alley! I am reading Wintering by Katherine May nonfiction as well and loving it so far. Enjoy your reads and have a wonderful week 🙂

    1. I think you will really like Pathfinding. I have been enjoying reading from a mother’s perspective a lot, and understanding what some of my friends have been through.

Ahh yes, Wintering has been on many a tbr haha, I just haven’t gotten to it yet!

      1. Ever since I became a mother I am craving stories that feature motherhood fiction or not.

Wintering is one of those books that gives you food for your thoughts for sure. If you do get to it I hope you enjoy it!

  2. Sounds like you had a great reading week! Down in the Sea of Angels sounds very interesting and I’d be keen to see your review if you put one out 🙂 I feel like I don’t read about this type of ability often in stories but I really enjoy it when characters have it. I hope you enjoy everything you pick up in the week ahead!
