A bookish check-in, aka WWW Wednesday

, ,

Happy Wednesday all!

Today I have decided to jump on another blog train, this time the WWW Wednesday train!
WWW Wednesday is a weekly recap meme hosted over at Taking on a World of Words, where we share what we’re reading and what’s up next on the tbr.

What are you currently reading?

The Jasmine Throne by Tasha Suri. I have 10% of the book left, so I will be finishing this one today. I’m loving it! The depth of the worldbuilding is amazing. The setting, the magic, the characters… all excellent. You bet I am picking up book 2 soon!
This read is part of two of my reading challenges (Friends recommend and Bingo ’24) so it’ll be great to check off those boxes today!

I am also reading Pod by Laline Paull, but have put it on hold at about 24%. It’s not grabbing me, and I think maybe it’s because I am not in the right mood for it. It’s very literary and quite a tough read actually. I do plan to finish it though as it is the monthly pick for Rewild YourShelf.

What have you recently finished?

The last book I marked as read was Local by Alastair Humphreys. This was a fun book to dip in and out of through January (and into Feb) about exploring nature right outside your doorstep. I really enjoyed the author’s voice and the photographs sprinkled through each chapter.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Once I am done with The Jasmine Throne, I will pick up a new non-fiction which is New Wild Order by Andy Hamilton. This was sent to me by the lovely folks at Scribe UK and I’m really excited to get stuck in.

The next fiction I plan to read is Shroud by Adrian Tchaikovsky. Again, this was sent to me as I am on the blog tour for its release! It will be my first Tchaikovsky book and I am very excited about it – I’ve been meaning to pick up one of his books for ages now.

What’s on your tbr this week? Let me know!

    1. I find non-fiction hard to come across sometimes so I’m not surprised they’re new to you!
Shroud is out later this month, so again, not surprising haha!

      1. 😂 yeah I don’t really read non-fiction. It’s funny because I just wrote a book review of An Astronaut’s Guide to Life on Earth by Chris Hadfield, but I don’t really read non-fiction. Yet I did love that one!

  3. I read The Jasmine Throne a few years ago but it was a summer of big change and so although I remember loving it for all the reasons you mentioned, I also don’t remember much about it anymore. 🤭 I’m planning to re-read the first book and to finish the series this later this year though. I hope you enjoy the other reads you have planned!
