I’m Emma, a 30-something living in the UK, and funnily enough, I love books!

I’ve lived in a few different places in the UK, but I’m always drawn back to the countryside every time I leave, and I currently call the South West of England home, with its beautiful open landscapes and secret pockets of woodland.

This blog was born when I realised I wanted more community with my books. I was already on Instagram, but I was craving something more. I was a reader of blogs, so I figured, why can’t I write one too?

Most of this blog is reviews, and you’ll find me most often talking about fantasy, science fiction and nature non-fiction books. I also stray into mysteries and translated contemporary fiction, though I am someone who is happy to try most things!

I also enjoy writing wrap-up posts, taking part in reading challenges and weekly bookish discussions. I never knew I had so much to say!

Emma the Human

When I’m not reading, I am a university student, currently studying for a degree in Plant Science! I LOVE plants and nature in general, so I’m having the absolute best time.

When I am not doing either of those things, I am working at a cattery. Honestly, I am just out here having the best time right now!

Other stuff I enjoy is hiking, cooking, knitting and cuddling with my 3 cats.
