WWW Wednesday: 13/8/25

,

Happy Wednesday! I’ve been a little under the weather the past few days, but thankfully I seem to be getting over it now!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly recap meme hosted by Sam over at Taking on a World of Words, where we share what we’re reading and what’s up next on the tbr.

As per, one fiction and one non-fiction!

I’m still reading A Training School for Elephants by Sophy Roberts for non-fiction. It’s fascinating and very revealing with regard to the need imperial powers had to conquer other lands, namely Africa. So much research has gone into this book, and I am enjoying the read.

I actually just finished this book, but my fiction is/was, Land of the Last Wildcat by Lui Sit. This is a children’s book, on the Wainwright Prize shortlists for this year. It follow Puffin, a young girl who is determined to save the Kuri – the last creature of its kind.

I finished book 7 of Green Rider, Winterlight and the novella (7.5) Spirit of the Wood, both by Kristen Britain. I am up to date once again! I just want to give Karigan a hug, that poor woman has Been Through It.

My focus is still on the Wainwright Prize (post coming soon!), so I am still planning to pick up The Possibility of Tenderness by Jason Allen-Paisant next. I also have Is A River Alive? by Robert Macfarlane pencilled in for this month.

Fiction-wise, I hope to have time for The Sun Blessed Prince by Lindsey Byrd. I am in love with the cover and the story sounds fab.
