WWW Wednesday: 21/5/25

,

Happy Wednesday, how have we all been this week? As per usual, I have been in the garden. I’ve built and planted up my tomato bed, and I’m nearly finished planting the long border we have in front of the kitchen. My favourite kind of work.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly recap meme hosted by Sam over at Taking on a World of Words, where we share what we’re reading and what’s up next on the tbr.

I am still plugging through The Lost Folk by Lally MacBeth. Really enjoying taking my time with this one. There’s so much knowledge packed into the pages so I have my pen and page tbs on the go!

Yesterday I started The Dream Hotel by Laila Lalami. It’s very intriguing so far – a dystopian mystery in a world where tech rules and there’s no privacy, so even your dreams can land you in trouble.

I read The Listeners by Maggie Stiefvater last week, a historical fiction with a dash of magical realism set in WW2. It was not my usual choice, but I found it oddly compelling. I have always adored Stiefvater’s writing, so perhaps that was why.

I also read my arc of The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst in one day. I loved this book so much. Cosy, cute and very planty!

I still have a lot of non fiction to work through, so I think after I finish The Dream Hotel I might pick up a second to read alongside The Lost Folk. It’ll be a nature-focused one to differentiate. Or I’ll start The Way by Cary Groner, a dystopian fiction.
