WWW Wednesday: 7/5/25

,

I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday again! The weeks have absolutely flown by recently. Reading has taken a bit of a backseat since I’ve been frantically knitting but I still read some good stuff!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly recap meme hosted by Sam over at Taking on a World of Words, where we share what we’re reading and what’s up next on the tbr.

I am just starting two books, the first being The Lost Folk by Lally MacBeth. I adore folklore and Lally is a local author to me, so I’m super excited to dive into this nonfiction.

The second is The Serpent Called Mercy by Roanne Lau. This is a debut inspired by Malaysian Chinese myth, and apparently it has a really strong friendship, and lots of chaos and monsters which sounds excellent.

While I was away last week I read three books. The first was A Barrister for the Earth by Monica Feria-Tinta. Incredible book by an incredible woman. Monica is a barrister (obviously) and she details 10 of her cases where the planet was essentially her client.

Second was Mischief Acts by Zoe Gilbert. Again, I love folklore and this is a fiction about Herne the Hunter through the span of the centuries in Britain. So unique and I loved it.

Finally I finished The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett. Amazing. Fantasy murder mystery? Heck yes please. I am definitely reading book 2 asap.

I think next I want to pick up Raising Hare by Chloe Dalton, a nonfiction about a UK politician who rescued a baby hare (leveret) over lockdown. I also want to read The Unmaking of June Farrow by Adrienne Young, and if you’ve been here before for my reviews, you know how much I adore her books.

Hi friends!

Welcome to my little corner of the internet!
