April Wrap-Up

I’m back from Wales, and catching up! I think I’ve gotten to all the comments (apologies if I’ve missed some things), and I’ll be reading through some of the posts I’ve missed too.

April was definitely a slower reading month compared to the last two, but I had some great books that I really enjoyed and am overall really happy with what I read.

I read 6 books in April, finishing up my reading of The Climate Fiction Prize shortlist, a couple of ARCs, and then mood picking the rest of them. I also read my first book towards the 2025 edition of r/Fantasy Book Bingo too.

All the photos are from my trip to Wales. Such a gorgeous place! We stayed in the Brecon Beacons National Park and the landscape is something else. Of course, Hay-on-Wye was an essential visit, otherwise known as the ‘town of books’ it has over 20 bookstores! I was very good and only picked up 3 books, all of which have been on my tbr for a while now. (Emily Wilde 3, Nature’s Ghosts, The Mysterious Affair at Styles.) The weather was glorious so we spent basically the whole week outside.

Other good things from April were a visit from my sister and her partner, visiting the county flower show and lots more garden time. I also have to share this photo of one of my cats. I am obsessed and wish to always be this relaxed!

Those pictures are gorg and it sounds like you had a fantastic time visiting Wales! 😍 I’m bummed that I never visited when I was living in Norwich, and instead went to Edinburgh about a million times cos I fell head over feet for the place, lol. 😂 Visiting Haye-on-Wye is defo on the bucket list! I hope May is just as amazing for you and you read some more great books, Emma.
