Happy Friday! I’m pre-writing this, so I don’t really know what to say here aside from: I am in Wales! Hopefully it’s sunny, as we love a good hike and there are many here.
Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly bookish discussion meme created by Rukky @Eternity Books and co-hosted by Aria @Book Nook Bits and Dini @DiniPandaReads. Each Friday, bloggers will write posts about a particular topic and share on their blog.
Our first topic for May is bookish fandoms.

There are very popular bookish fandoms out there, especially in the romance fantasy genre (Maas, Yarros, LOTR, etc.). Are you part of a bookish fandom?
Being a primarily fantasy reader, I have definitely not missed seeing the fandoms! I wouldn’t consider myself part of any, though I do know about a lot of them as I have some good friends who adore romantasy and are absolutely part of fandoms.
If you are, what do you love about it? If not, do you think you’d ever want to be part of one?
As I said, I am not really in any fandoms (I don’t read romantasy for the most part so…). However, I love that they exist, and I love how excited and happy people I know get and are to be a part of them. I don’t think that they are for me though as I tend not to get attached to books and characters so much. I discussed this in an LTB at post the start of April, but I am not an emotional reader and therefore there is usually a disconnect between me and the book which doesn’t really lend itself to fandom life. I am happy enough listening to my friends talk about their fandoms, though and by extension that does give me some sense of inclusion.
Does being part of the online book community help you connect to fandoms?
It definitely does. Even as someone not part of any, I can still appreciate and hear about a lot of them! Nothing makes me happier than knowing that books can bring people together, and fandoms are one manifestation of that. The bookish community is a great place, and I hope that fandoms continue to bring people together for a log time!
